I know several folks who speak Polish as their main language and reside in Darien and out that way, southwest.

You are just in time for my favorite Polish attraction, though, and I don't mean 'Taste of Polonia'. This year July 24, 25 and 26 in Whiting, IN (just across the state line to the east) the village has its 'Pierogi Festival'. It is not to be missed!

Where around Midway?

I was in Gage Park recently and there is not a single vestige of its former (largely) Polish inhabitants left. Zip, zilch, nada.

and if anyone goes to the festival and have never been to Whiting...prepare to be shocked at how nice it is, they are even building downtown condos there...and the view of Chicago is fantstic...better than just about anywhere...reason to visit Whiting without the mounds of pierogi

Lots have moved to NW suburbs. But youre not going to find a vibrant Polish neighborhood in 2015 Chicago. Certainly not in the way that Pilsen/Little Village is Mexican, or Devon is Indian/Hasidic

As an example, this article is over 10 years old but it was already addressing the migration of Poles out of the city into the burbs

And now, many are returning to their homelands

The entire far NW side of Chicago is very Polish. (the area that encircles and includes Norridge/Harwoood Hts.

Archer Heights, West Elsdon, ClearRidge. Though that area is losing its Polish-ness about as quickly as Avondale did.

The first two were 80% Hispanic in the 2010 census; the last 45%.

You can bet that aside from a handful of grandmas they will be history by the next one in the first two and probably down by at least half in the third.

I think they mean the City of Chicago. Norridge/Harwood are suburbs, not Chicago.

The formerly Polish parts of NW Chicago are mostly Hispanic at this point. Just drive up Milwaukee or Belmont.

Norridge/Harwood Heights are completely surrounded by the city and are a seamless part of the far NW side neighborhood fabric -- especially the Polish aspect. I think it's safe to say the OP won't eschew them in his search for Polish delis and grocery stores on account of arbitrary municipal boundaries.
