California was the first and "growers", or whatever they're called, are still going through this. It'll be years before this kind of thing doesn't happen.

If anyone has seen the utter joke of what has happened in other states it is no doubt a good thing that the Illinois get out in front of what could be a real mess.

Without getting into the debate over how much revenue this could generate for the state or the practioneers or even dealing with the controversey around just what kinds of conditions best respond to such treatment one should at least look to states like Colorado that are finding it increasingly difficult to police the movement of "legal" cannabis into the illegal trade that could very well put youth at risk -- Colorado denying more medical-marijuana business applications - The Denver Post

Pot problems in Colorado schools increase with legalization - The Denver Post

Too bad for the Chicago Doc, looks like another casualty in the war for common sense.

I believe that what you'll see in the next year is a well defined and successful model for other States to follow. Colorado and Washington have done a great job setting up a sales and distribution model. When the dollars start pouring in next year, other states will be chomping at the bit to get in the game. The "sky is falling" mentality from some is ridiculous, it's simply not going to happen. This is long overdue and the days of reefer madness are long gone. However, as Stillers mentioned, it will take time, but the dominoes are consistently falling...

Mark my words, the Drug War will go down as one of the largest blunders ever in world history.

And that's no exaggeration. We have created a prison-industrial complex the likes of which the so-called "Evil Empire" Soviet Union could never have pulled off.

I agree make Drugs legal I say. We could hurt the gangs. What would they sell then?
