I'd believe it. Just go out in River North, Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, or Wrigleyville any weekend. It's really not hard to get some here if you want to do it. Chicago is on par with that type of stuff with any other city I've ever visited in the world. I have friends who....I'd rather not know how many sexual partners they've had. I know some who have 7 or more a month, not a year.

Keep in mind, the article ranks cities about men who say that have had upwards of seven or more sexual partners.

They mention that New York and San Francisco came in last, two of the least masculine and most liberal cities. Else in the top five are surprisingly Southern "Bible Belt" cities including Birmingham, AL and Oklahoma City, OK.

I think it might correlate somewhat with simple, pure machismo. The South has more machismo, and compared to Chicagos world class peers is also more "macho".

Exaggerating, and stretching the truth about a mans sexual partners is a more "macho" trait, characteristic of any subculture where one might be quick to questions your sexual orientation if you have not had a certain number of partners.

Men do that in almost every culture that is liberal with sex...however, as this is an anonymous survey, they probably have nothing to win by lying.

Surprising, indeed. Bibe thumpers are sexual deviants? No, way... NEVER!

It might be worth noting that, in addition to being the birthplace of Playboy, for a time in the late Sixties and early Seventies, Illinois had a reputation for having the most liberal attitudes and legal stance toward homosexuality -- just some food for thought.

There are sundown towns in Illinois where a statement like that did not fly. I assure you they were not liberal in any way and most still aren't today. The only differerence is the absence of signs.
