This forum seems to be obsessed with Chicago so I figure it is the best place to ask people here, I am looking at potentially buying some condos for investments in Chicago and I was curious which neighborhoods were the ones I should be looking in?

I know there is an issue with gun violence and such, so which neighborhoods have low gun violence or is all of Chicago dangerous?

No, I am concerned about the gun violence in Chicago and it seems this thread has been swamped with people who care about the gun violence in Chicago and I figured they would have a better understanding on which neighborhoods were the dangerous ones.

So with this issue of gun violence in Chicago which neighborhoods should one stay away from so they don't get shot?

If it is just for investment purposes why do you care about the crime? Most of the neighborhoods are pretty same, some are sketchy but have gangs that won't mess with you and a few are warzones. The further north you go the safer and wealthier the neighborhoods get. I like Logan square and Albany Park, but they may or may not have what you are looking for.

Well with the number of threads that have been started here by other members, I am beginning to wonder which neighborhoods are the dangerous ones or is this something that affects all of Chicago, which no one wants to buy a place in a warzone.

Drug dealers can pay rent too.

IMO, the worst neighborhoods are Austin, Garfield, Humbolt, Englewood, and maybe North Lawndale. Each neighborhood will have pockets of violence and some neighborhoods will be engulfed in violence, you kinda have to look at the boundaries of the property you are looking at.

I am asking people that know everything there is to know about Chicago, just count how many Chicago threads there are on this one forum, you would think we are actually in the Chicago forum.
