I think this more than verifies Chicago and its gun control laws DO NOT work!
The fact that this comes from Fox News says it all. It might as well have been written by the NRA. Gun control DOES work, look at the UK.

You don't have to look across the Atlantic, just across the great lakes actually:

Toronto:

Pop. 2.6 million

2012 Homicides: 54

It's not like toronto doesn't have gang activity as well, this year was actually particularly rough. It's just that access to guns is much harder to come by.

No, it's that Chicago's black underclass is much larger, more deprived, and violent than Toronto's.

And that there is limitless access to guns.

thats not fair to gary cause Gary has under 100k people. 80k to be exact now since the 2010 census.

It is perfectly fair. That is what ratio means.

ra·tio

/ˈrāSHō/

Noun

The quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other.

And the only reason it hasn't shown up on the list since then is that its population has dropped below 100K.

its unfair just off that fact that we have a neighborhood with a higher population then the whole city of gary..

in 2011,gary (pop.80k) had 35 murders..in 2012, the neighborhood of austin(pop.90k) had 36 homicides

Yeah, I don't think that accounts for the difference. That was my point. Everyone in the 'hood in Toronto has guns too, believe me.

Doesn't this work against your initial argument? About the blacks in chicago being more underprivileged and violent? What reason do most people have to own illegal guns than to be underprivileged and violent in the first place? Are you saying toronto's illegal gun owners are somehow more responsible with their illegal guns? I'd say they are just as bad in some situations.

There was an outdoor party shooting earlier this year where some 20 people got hit by bullets, however that was a rarity and would be more common in my view if there were indeed easier access to guns.
