It's generally been my experience that pizza slices typically run $3-$4 most everywhere. My problem is that, unless it's stuffed pizza, I don't want to eat just one.

Eat A Pita (Halsted/Belmont) has some cheap eats. Two examples: Pizzaburger with fries (or rice or soup instead of fries), $4.95 plus tax. Open-faced meatloaf sandwich, with mashed potatoes/gravy, about $3.99 plus tax.

Yango's (Broadway/Diversey) after all these years, still offers its Two Cheeseburgers with Fries special daily for $4.65 plus tax.

Yessir. For whatever reason, I am surprised that many people know of it. For a long time, I thought only local neighborhood people who got lost off the clark strip had liked it.

If you work in the loop, Chicken Planet at Wells & Van Buren is as cheap as you'll find for a pretty filling lunch.

Quarter grilled chicken with pita and a side and a drink for $4.56 ($5.01 for white meat).

Menu - Chicken Planet
