What is it with these teacher unions? They seem to have about the worst negotiators in the world. Quit complaining and get back to work.....after all, it's all about the children, right?

Do you have a conflict in particular you're complaining about? And if you do, what information to you have about the negotiating issues which leads you to your opinion?

Has there been any credible, non-biased information regarding pay, benefits and working conditions for teachers in States where collective bargaining for teachers (or was it where teachers cannot legally strike?) was eliminated? Anything like that for States that eliminated it for State government employees? After all the controversy in Wisconsin I am truly interested in how that is affecting the employees. Maybe it is too soon to have informative data.

^Well the Wisconsin law was essentially entirely struck down by a judge, so I think we can expect that to be in the courts for years.

Yeah, screw them for wanting to be paid and not treated like garbage for doing one of the most important jobs in the world. Where do they get the nerve?

Or to the suburban forum if it doesn't deal with CPS. Lake Forest HS was on strike, and now Evergreen Park is set to strike.
