Yes, they make money through advertising, but that is not going through the mind of most reporters. There is division of labor in media organizations.

It's like saying an engineer's primary goal is to sell cars.

That is why I am wondering why you are so upset over this story.

I read it on Chicago Breaking News. It did not seem excessively publicized one way or another. It was fed into the news feed. By the end of the day it was at the bottom of the news feed like every other story.
