I would imagine you could find some cheap movers

however make sure its covered under your insurance or their insurance.

A one-bedroom, in-town move shouldn't cost more than $500-$600 (before tip.) Check out the moving company reviews on Yelp. We're moving this week with The Professionals (great reviews.) We had reserved All My Sons (rotten reviews), and then they lost our reservation. Point being, believe the reviews on Yelp. But definitely do not pay $1,200. That's a total scam estimate. Our 1-br move from downtown to Edgewater has an estimate less than half that price.

I moved my whole house (things for a family of 5) for $1200. That seems really high for your situation.
