I can only listen to WGCI for 30 minutes before they repeat songs. V103 for an hour before they do the same. I also listen to WFMT to get my classical fix. I kinda miss listening to Steve Dahl's whining every now and again. I wish Howard Stern were back on terrestrial radio.

Thank God Q101 is going away, it's ridiculously bad!

XRT is listenable.

I listen to WBEZ, but it's all talk, it's very good talk though.

Also, The Reader gave it's best Chicago radio award to a new, online only station called CHIRP Radio...

Best overall radio station | Best of Chicago 2011 | City Life | Chicago Reader

Listen here...

CHIRP Radio

I think CHIRP has much room for improvement, but is certainly the best radio station in this town (noting the lack of decent competition)

I stopped listening to Q101 about six or seven years ago. I was tired of hearing more commercials than music, and when I did hear the commercials, they were yelling about sex toys or something like that most of the time.

Listening to Q101 right now and Electra really sounds like she is gonna cry on the radio. Poor girl, I really liked the Last letter game

I pretty much always hated Q101. Never really cared for the music lineup; the only reason I ever listened to it was to hear Mancow every morning, and even then, that was because I had a job out in the burbs so he was great to listen to on that 1.5 hour commute every morning. But he left (which was right around the time I finally got a job in the city anyway) and so I almost forgot Q101 even existed anyway.

But, 'tis true, radio is a dying format. You dont need radio anymore; you can get an ipod and load it with whatever music you want, off of the internet, and have your own playlist.

Come on Q101 wasn't that bad. I would rather listen to them than B96 or 103.5 anyday
Mancow? Really? Really? Really?

Is Q101 still switching to an all-news format? What's that going to bring to the table that isn't already covered by WBBM, WLS-AM, etc.?

Mancow was freakin hilarious. Plus, he is a Libertarian, which I am as well, so I appreciated his political viewpoint.

Sorry don't need politics interjected with my music that is why I didn't like him. If I wanted to hear politics I would turn on the various other stations
