Rahm should enforce some of kind of curfew though. Especially in the summer.

Maybe place actual Chicago cops on train cars or something. Like how the Guardian Angels up here in Milwaukee are placed on buses that are typically rowdy at times.

I dunno....
I've never considered there to be a real crime problem on Chicago's trains themselves...stuff happens but there never was a real problem.

Everyone I know dreads winter, but I look forward to it for this very fact. Crime being a problem is always somewhat subjective to ones comfort level. I grew up in a place where there was never a worry of crime, and I don't mean the "keep your street smarts and you'll be fine" type of safe area... I'm talking about walking around with your i-pod blasting while drunk at 2am with few people around and NOTHING will happen to you, type of city (yes, there are such cities in the world). So, relative to MY experience, Chicago has a major crime problem. It maybe a lot better compared to the 70s or whatever, but having to worry about getting held up at gun point while walking around at 9pm is a problem... let alone the more violent crimes people have to face on a daily basis. The city needs to solve it's problem with poverty, drug and gangs (which all go hand in hand). It needs to educate the less educated about encouraging education and positive work ethics. Until then, we will just have to deal with the crap in Chicago.
