I think you need to edit that to say 'certain subsets of the gay population'. Otherwise, it may be as offensive and over-generalizing as 'blacks are some of the best consumers of collard greens'.

Looks extremely similar to the Chicago Gang Book that came out in maybe 2003, not sure there's much that is new here, many of these gangs have been entrenched for 30+ years, at least on the North Side.

The article made some interesting points about how the old structure of top-down gang heirarchies are being dealt with by essentially - the police cutting the head off. So the article is saying the new gangs are smaller in number and often there's no clear leader or the leaders are young, like 17, and easily replaceable, so they are fighting smaller gangs that can adapt better and faster to the police tactics. Read the article, it explains it better than I can.
