Just to add what nana053 said about American Girl Place: I have a 2-year old daughter and AGP is my personal hell. If I don't get my act together, I'm sure satan will have a nice replica of that place waiting for me for all eternity.

AGP is quite possibly the best form of male birth control known to man.

To set the scene: 2 women take a crew of 10 girls in, where they all fawn, fight over, and accessorize their newly purchased dolls, which cost way too much money. Then they walk outside 5 wide on Michigan Avenue flinging their bags around. Inevitably, you will be walking behind one of these wild packs of estrogen and a 5 year old's bag will be swung in the direction of your manhood recklessly. My wife even refuses to go into that place, insisting that my mother or sister take our daughter if anyone will.

Another question. Any good places to eat with a family on Michigan Ave that is local flavor? Not interested in fast food chains I can get anywhere and I realize a lot of good places are not family friendly.

The Walnut Room in Macy's on State Street. Unfortunately, you won't get the exact same flavor we used to get when it was Marshall Field's but its still decent. It's expensive though.
