Hmm. There is that blue light on Foster and Damen, right? I think I read somewhere once that there are a few problematic apartment buildings near Foster and Leavitt, but who knows. The crappy element may live pretty near there. It seems to me that Damen cleans up pretty well as you head south of Foster. I looked at an apartment on Damen and Argyle (or maybe Ainslie?) and everything looked pretty nice.
