Hey everyone,

I am a 29 year old single male moving out of Wrigleyville. I'm considering Lincoln Square or Andersonville as my destination, but wanted to get your opinion on which be more my vibe.

I looked at some apartments in Lincoln Square today (off the Rockwell brown line stop) that I liked, but the neighborhood didn't seem to have that much going on. I strolled down Lincoln Ave, but it seemed to be mostly restaurants and whatnot.

I havent really checked out Andersonville yet, planning on doing that this week. I was just wondering if you guys had any opinions on the two neighborhoods and could give me some advice regarding which one might be a better fit for me.

Thanks!

Lincoln Square. It's your better option.

I think Andersonville is not that great public transportation-wise since it is so far north and a bit of a walk to the nearest el station.

If you live a few blocks east of Clark it isn't too bad. For example Berwyn and Glenwood to the Berwyn Red Line station is six minutes.

Andersonville is very accessible to the red line. Plus express buses and standard buses. Plenty of cabs too.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the obvious - Andersonville is very gay. As a single, heterosexual, late twenties male, I'd choose Lincoln Square a thousand times over.

If you're moving from Lake View and are expecting something similar to Clark St from Grace on south, you'd be hard pressed to replicate that vibe. Lincoln avenue from Lawrence down tends to have a more laid back vibe with more restaurants and bars that appeal to 30s and up crowds.

I think thats why he's looking in that direction. At 29, one grows out of Wrigleyville/Clark St.

I'd rather hear from the OP than your thoughts.

As someone else put, being 29, I think I may of outgrown the Clark street scene in Wrigleyville. That's not to say I want to be completely done with it, but I dont know if I want to live two blocks from it anymore.

I walked around Lincoln Square again today, and it's definitely a tamer neighborhood. I guess what I'm looking for, is if say on a Sunday afternoon I want to go out to watch the Bears game, I don't have to take a train ride back into Wrigley to get that bar scene. Are there any cool little sports bars in Lincoln Square?

Also, I looked at a place off of the Rockwell stop... how safe is this part of the neighborhood (it was about four blocks from the stop off of Lawrence).

Can't get much safer than the rockwell stop on the brown line.
