I kind of disagree. I think people should search the forum for answers, but not bring back old threads. Nobody wants to read a 6-page conversation from 2 years ago; let dead threads stay dead.

So you want 50 threads on Pizza that can come up at anytime?

Half the reason this forum is here is so people with questions can search it to find answers. Everyone should not expect to have every single question answered every time. Many answers to questions have already been answered before the questions have been asked.

All you have to do is click on the last page of a thread if you do not want to read through the past information...

My personal opinion is Lou's and Gino's East are both better then Giordano's.

Order Here:

Lou Malnati's - Tastes of Chicago.com

Gino's East - FeaturedFoods.com

Interesting article:

In the deep-dish pizza city, thin seems to be in - U.S. business- msnbc.com

I'm not picking about pizza. I like Imo's from St. Louis. The Provel cheese gives it a certain flavor. I've never been to Pi. I could probably never get it, nor could I afford it. But thick crust is okay as well. Really, it depends on how hungry I actually am. I can't eat much at one time usually.

But I'm not picky about pizza.

Just today I was thinking of Casa Luna (no longer exists) a place we used to order from all the time years ago. In fact, it was the pizza I was eating the night the Bears won the Super Bowl in January 1986.

I found an old article that mentions it in Time magazine (from 1988). This is what is says:

"Casa Luna, a family-owned pizzeria in Chicago, thrives by offering videocassette rentals on the premises. Even if the movie a customer wants is not available, says Co-Owner Bob Proskin, "they still order the pizza.""

A Saucy Fight for a Slice of the Pie - TIME

Does anyone on here remember this place or used to eat there?

And yes, it used to be one of the best Stuffed pizza/Deep dish pizzas places in Chicago. No question.

============================================

This article is also useful to some degree, because it harks back to the days when Domino's had not yet surpassed Pizza Hut and Little Caesars had a lot less presence nationwide.

I really dislike franchised chain pizza, but for the pizza historian, the above story is a great little piece. (No pun intended)

I do not think this is a good time to bring up our president-even in the Chicago forum.

From what I know of that place in St. Louis-it ain't exactly Chicago style pizza to begin with.

Yup.
