Aurelio's is good... but not one of our faves.

Our favorite is White Cottage in Wood Dale, and we go to Tree Guys in Itasca for their "Buy one get one" on Tuesdays.

But White Cottage's extra thin crust is awesome.
DH has been going there for 35 yrs.

My 2 faves are Lou Malnati's and Geno's East. Back in the day, Pal Joey's used to have some of the best pizza around, but since new ownership took the helm, quality has gone down. For crappy pizza, my fave is Garibaldi's. Yum. Connie's gets an honorable mention.

I had the absolute worst pizza ever last night. came from a "national pizza chain" which I will not name. Nearly no sauce, the slices weren't even cut all the way through. Chewey as all getout, overcooked. bleah - this stuff made school cafeteria pizza look good. I was starving though. Had to eat. I avoided the sausage though, that looked pretty toxic.
ewwww.
Anyway some of my Faves:
Villa Nova -- Stickney
Q's - Hillside
Roberto's - Elmhurst
County Inn pizza - Elmhurst (is it still there?)
Aurelio's
Gino's east
Lou Malnati's
Papa Pasero's - Westmont
Home Run Inn - the Chicago location

A friend of mine turned me on to this:
Order a Beggar's Pizza with ricotta, spinach and sausage for carryout then before eating, top it with giardinara from Rubino's. Oh mama!

I'm a southsider, so that's where most of my picks are...

Palermo's at 95th and Cicero in Oak Lawn - probably my favorite, hands down. I DREAM of their pizza LOL.
Barracos at 95th and Lawndale in Evergreen Park.
Giordano's (the suburban locations are decent, but the best is on Rush)..MUST be stuffed, with spinach and chopped garlic!
Lou Malnati's...get the DELUXE, and get it in Lincolnwood if you can.
Aurelio's in Homewood. YUM!
Beggar's in Merrionette Park. This is right by where I used to live - run over to Dominick's for a cold 6-pack, and grab the pizza and tomato bread on the way back home!

Palermo's used to be my favorite pizza-the one on 63rd street. But it is also more expensive.
Fox's Pub also has a good pizza.

This is a never ending debate. Don't forget there are several styles including "Chicago Style" deep dish. But my vote for the best "stuffed" pizza is Nancy's, various locations.

Yeah, Nancy's is pretty good. I have to be in a mood for deep dish though.

Southside: I like the Southside vito and nick's.

I hate the whole perception that deep dish is "chicago style" wassup with that? I know more thin crust places than deep dish. Like deep dish is the ONLY type of pizza we have in Chicago?!

1) I don't like that freaky thing they do with the burnt cheese around the outer edge;

2) They absolutely saturate their pizzas with toppings. As a dedicated carnivore I never thought I'd say this, but they use too much meat on their pizzas. I usually like piles of meat, but meats used for pizza tend to be cured with salt, and if you use too much meat you end up with an overly salty pizza.

I love the sauce though.
