Also, check with PACE, there may be bus service from close to home to the station. Or ride a bike if its only a few miles. And be sure to get the "link up" ($39) when you buy your monthly pass. It saves you from having to carry change for the bus downtown, and is good on PACE buses. Your employer may allow you to pay for the train, or downtown parking, pretax. If so, take advantage of it. Unless you drive a hybrid, the cost will still be less than gas plus tolls if you drive.

Thanks for your input everybody! I actually just found out that parking at the Route59 station just opened up. It's something called Park Smart Club and is $40 for a monthly pass and a guaranteed spot in the Route59 metra parking lot. Timing couldn't have been better! It just opened up a few days ago and monthly permits are already going quickly, so I jumped on getting myself one.
