Chet is 100% correct with his information. Additionally, I have two children there, so I think that I would have some idea. Here is a link to an article regarding the Avoca School district: http://www.nsba.org/SecondaryMenu/TL...strict-37.aspx

Avoca is one of the most culturally and socio-economically diverse districts in the generally affluent, high-performing “North Shore” of Chicago. Enrollment demographics range from multi-million dollar estates, to subsidized apartment housing, and Asian-American, Eastern European, and Spanish families comprise more than 40 percent of the student population. This omnipresent diversity is embraced with pride and is often celebrated throughout the school year.

Prospect Heights District 23 is ethnically diverse and academically strong. Students from Prospect Heights, Arlington Heights, Wheeling and Mt. Prospect attend. Economically we have subsidized renters to homes near $1M attending. Students go to Wheeling and Hersey HS, both ratehighly by US News and World report. Dist 23 has a HIGHLY regarded band and orchestra program!
Wilmette is great choice, but area going into Dist 23 will provide more housing choices in the $350-$600K range.
