Hello,

I am trying to move to Evanston near the Davis St. Metra station. My current lease expires at the end of March. I was wondering:

1) How easy would it be to find a roommate (maybe an NU grad student) if I went for a two-bedroom? Should I wait to move until June when all the students move out?
2) I found a one-bedroom I love around 1505 Oak. Is this a safe area? One room in this apartment could be converted into a second bedroom--would I be able to find a roommate for that area if I wanted one?
3) If I took the one-bedroom on Oak, how easy is it to meet people in their early 20s? I just graduated from college, but the people in that area are in their 30s.

Thank you!

I'm wondering about that area, also. Can you safely walk to downtown Evanston or to the Davis Metra stop at night? Are there any problems around the YMCA?
Thanks for your help.

Again, the area is fine...more than fine. The area has a decent amount of foot traffic even at late hours.

Its the same as any place, just be aware of your surroundings (particularly if you are female) and you should be fine.
