Used to live in Mount Prospect, moved to Glenview last year. Overall Glenview is nicer and has a better school district, but I also noticed that you're more likely to run into snobby folks, specially when you're on the eastern part of Waukegan.

How does one supposedly run into these so-called geographically situated ‘snobby folks’ east of Waukegan?
Give an example.

Well that depends on what you consider snobby. In my case, whenever I take my kids to certain parks in those areas I get grumpy looks and ppl that are not very friendly. While this may be nothing, I should say ppl in other areas like Mount Prospect or Arlington Heights seemed more pleasant and friendlier to be around.

I just love anecdotes like this LOL. The fact that an educated adult would make such a claim is hilarious.

I don't think its laugh out loud funny that someone had an experience where they felt looked down on and expressed that an area didn't seem to welcoming to them.

Hilarious or not, it's my personal experience. You can take it for what it is or leave it as is.

To me comments about snobbishness, the above included, often sound like paranoia. The reality is that most people are not even thinking about you.

Exactly.

Gosh, a cashier at the Jewel-Osco in Arlington Heights seemed to speak to me in a snotty tone, and the guy in the parking lot scowled at me. My conclusion? Everyone in AH must be a real piece of work! LOL

Ok, then let me rephrase, most ppl look grumpier and don't smile as much. Maybe I should say that they're not as friendly as folks in other parts. Fair enough?

Keep in mind that I'm talking about the general feel here, not isolated incidents. I'm sure you can run into a super down to earth human living in a mansion in Winnetka just as much as meeting the snobby cashier that works in a Jewel in Mount Prospect as the fella above mentioned.

I was born in Mt. Prospect, so my vote is clearly biased.
