Ok. Narrowed everything down to Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, or Hinsdale. Any particular areas we should avoid within those suburbs? Any particular areas we should focus on? Keep in mind: my husband will be commuting to the Humboldt Park area, and my kids will be (hopefully) going to the local Catholic school.
Any particular neighborhoods that anyone recommends?
In addition to all of the wishes listed in my first post, we ultimately want a very super duper kid friendly neighborhood, not a stuffy keep to yourself neighborhood. I also have relented a bit on the "newer construction" wish since it seems to exclude a lot of great areas. So older construction now being considered too.

There are no bad areas in any of those towns. The only thing I would worry about is how expensive Hinsdale's housing market is. You really wouldn't get enough house for your money. Try looking at Clarendon Hills. It's less expensive than Hinsdale and shares the same school district.
