Here is another question - I hear many people saying that they pay more money to live on the edge of the the golf course (your backyard ends where the field begins). Is it worth it? Is it good for resell? Finally, any safety concerns? After all golf balls can cause serious damage to the house and needless to say that you will be in trouble it you get hit by that ball. Any suggestions / advice?

depends on whether or not you are in the line of play, (e.g. a house by a tee box will be much safer than one of the edge of the fairway. Most houses in the line of play have plexiglass windows just to be safe.

ive never understood the appeal...you have no privacy, people are literally stomping around in your backyard, you've got balls pelting the siding...i just dont get it.

Some people like it, some dont. Ive had a few friends who lived on golf courses and I enjoyed visiting them, but not sure Id want to live there. Plus, he had to replace his sliding patio door twice from stray balls cracking it. The downside? People are out there early in the morning, some staying rather late too. Privacy is lost with strangers playing a sport in your background. The upsides? Its nice looking, always manicured, and if you like golf youll be in heaven. It can also be super quiet most of the time, w/o any loud neighbors backing up to you.
