I just got a nice place by downtown Oak Park. I move in on Saturday. I plan on renting a parking space for when I actually move in. My main concern is where should I park while moving in? There is 2 hour parking outside my apartment, so I feel safe unloading my things there, but I don't know what to do with my car until I can rent the space. I was considering using a garage for a few days but I want to avoid spending money on a parking garage if I can get by for a week until I can nab a permanent spot. I saw that the parking offices offer temporary passes but they don't appear to be open on the weekends and it would be too far to drive there during the week.

Any advice would be great.

You can call your car in for an overnight pass until you can get in for a temporary permit. I live in Forest Park now so I don't have the number, but it should be on the village website.

Call 358-NITE the day you need to stay overnight. You are allowed 5 overnight passes/year. You will need to give them your license plate number and the address where your car is. See the village website for more info.
