This is our fourth winter here. 2008 was unusually cold, 2009 was average, 2010 had record snowfall, and 2011 ... is this normal?

I just said to someone today that if every winter around Chicago was like this winter, Chicago would have 20 million people living here. BUT, I am waiting for mother nature to slap me around a bit as the season rolls on.

This is very unusual. It's coming on Thursday though, with snow and highs in the Low 20's. We're long overdue.

And yet, this past December wasn't the warmest on record. Actually, it went down as the 15th warmest on record. Which, I guess, is still pretty impressive.

For me, it's hard to imagine it getting much warmer. Anyhow, bring it on. Once we clear February, we're good to go.
