Yes, I agree. Glencoe is doing pretty well too, the village held the sixth spot in CNN Money 2011 ranking of the top-earning towns in America.

I read the other day that the woman CEO of Kraft Foods lives in Kenilworth. Jude Reyes (Forbes 400 member, $2 billion) resides in the village. Irene Pritzker, the former wife of Robert Pritzker, sold her mansion there a few years ago.

Pierre deVise of Roosevelt University in a 1989 study noted that Kenilworth ranked fourth among suburbs with the most "Who's Who" listees per 10,000 residents with 163, trailing only Bronxville, N.Y. (201); Beverly Hills (168); and Bloomfield Hills, Mich. (165).

Here is a short 7-minute clip to learn more about Kenilworth.

i love these silly statistics. Glencoe may have a median family income in the $230s but you couldn't possibly move there, except to a condo or very tiny house, on that size paycheck. The average includes a very large number of retirees with moderate incomes and paid-for houses.

Even Kenilworth has a median family income of only $375K. That doesn't go very far when you're applying for a $4 million mortgage.

Maybe being a millionaire isn't always as wealthy as it sounds. In fact, in a thread about the richest of the rich, who even cares about a resident with 1.5 million in the bank? If someone makes good money for 20 years and is responsible with their earnings, they just might find themselves as a millionaire. I wager that a lot of run-of-the-mill middle class suburbs have a millionaire resident or two. You don't need 2 million to be a millionaire but you need more than 999 million to be a billionaire. Does the suburb have any billionaires?

Kenilworth - 0.

Oak Park to me is full of working professionals like an attorney.
Somene who makes darn good money.

Kenilworth is full of Major Executives of large Corporations or the head of an large firm... Someone who makes an insane amount of money.

Nothing that borders Cicero could be considered affluent.

Someone else said Oakbrook. Really? I live in Wheaton, and I say that Oakbrook--while it has some very affluent sub-divisions--is not an affluent subburb.

Here is a fun map of median home sale prices for Cook county, which includes most of the money on the north shore; Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka and Glencoe.

There is considerable wealth in Barrington Hills which is well beyond O'Hare. Having said this, there are plenty of solid middle class folk there, too.

Neither Hoffman Estates nor any burb in the O'Hare belt would be considered havens for the wealthy.

Wealth means different things to different people. I know many wealthy people who choose to live in modest homes/ communities.

I also know people who are leveraged to the max who live in very high end properties in communities, considered wealthy.
