I've had several turbo cars, most recently diesels. The main thing to remember with performance gas turbo engines is to let them warm up and let them cool down. It contributes to longevity and sustained performance.
Gotta care for those babies!
Buick had it goin' on with these cars! In my motorhead circles, they certainly had respect.

There is a Grand National absolutely rotting to the ground at a house on the outskirts of Little Rock. I can tell by looking at the house that there's no use stopping and asking about it though!

What a shame. Probably another one of those "I'm going to fix it one day" people....or even better "I'm gonna fix it up and sell it on the Barrett-Jacksons". Then you drive by that same house in 20-30 years, the car hasn't moved an inch and is sunk up to the floor boards in mud.

As often as Grand Nationals are stolen, I'll bet by the sounds of it the thieves wouldn't even bother with this one.......

one my cousins still has hers, purchased new, and drives it daily

she claims it still has some scoot left it in, and i suppose for the time it was a quick "stocker"

i've seen a few sub 10 time slips on modded ones (can't remember the site, but it's like drag times .com, and you have to upload a slip, IIRC )

the 80s were such a bad time for domestics-- this was one of the bright spots

TurboBuick.Com there's some folks over there running quick times with them.

This one is mine:

According to one site, the GNX could get 0-60 in under 5 seconds in 1987 and was considered the fastest production car for that year.

Also, you always want to run synthetic oil and change it more often than a naturally aspirated engine.

Not sure if you "always" have to run synthetic. I've heard of people getting by with regular snake oil and doing ok.

I myself run synthetic in mine but thinking of switching over.

Much better to run synthetic in turbo motors. The breakdown from excess heat is greatly reduced through chemistry
