Check all the carmakers (domestic) for that time period. All of them were pushing the "personal luxury coupe" and they all looked very similar. Grand Prix, Cutlass Supreme, Regal, Coronado (with rich Corinthian leather). The only outlier, somewhat, was the T-Bird but it was within the price point of around $5K to $7K for top of the line.
There was also the Dodge Charger (I owned one) and the Chrysler Cordoba with the "soft corinthian leather". Typical "Personal Luxury Car" of the era. Like a rolling bordello inside, soft, underdamped ride, vague handling, big smogged out motor that swilled fuel. Ahhh, the god old days!

This thread reminds me of the Thundercougarfalconbird with rich eagle feather interior stuffed with eagle down and adash made of eagle beak stuffed with eagle down. There was more eagle in rhe floor.
