Loved those cars. But my 76 GP that color combo had a 455. And yes, I uh, let it breathe a bit better than uncle sam wanted it too and yes, switched to the 400 heads to up the compression a couple points. ![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) The 73 up Monte Carlo's were done at the direction of John Delorean (he was moved to chevy from Pontiac in 69 after the huge success of the 69 GP and GM knew chevy needed a shot in the arm as #2 ford was gaining worldwide on them) . The I.P was clearly a DeLorean input as was the layout of the interiors. Still in my opinion some of the nicest cars to be in ever built. Oh, for music, I'm thinking Sammy and" I Can't Drive 55....."

Indeed they were.
Those who cheer-lead for today's toys and scoff at the cars like this from the greatest era just don't begin to know the feeling of driving one. It's not something that can be put into words, but an experience to be treasured always.
Music, too, has gone down the drain....in an even steeper decline than with cars. We have lost so much.
