Lighted street parade tonight at 6 pm.

Chattanooga's decade-old Holiday Starlight Parade on Saturday will impress people of all ages.

Though there are six new entries in this year's event, the popular inflatables from the last few years won't be returning this year.

They are adding some new things: a custom-made Holiday Starlight Parade sign, complete with small spotlights and electric rotating star; a new Santa float, and a 12-foot balloon creation that includes candy canes and a star.

There are 76 float entries this year.

The parade will be televised on WRCB Channel 3 at 2 p.m. Dec. 15.
Floats are expected from schools, churches, car clubs and a variety of other sources.

Also new to the 2007 parade is "Making Mischief," a float featuring large puppet figures from the "Land of Misfits," antique tractors, segways from Scenic Segways, a bluegrass band performing live on a float and the Brainerd High School marching band.

The parade will be held rain or shine.

The parade will begin at Miller Plaza and follow Market Street to the Tennessee Aquarium.
