This weekend we ran into a small parade on Main St. It ran in tandem with some condo open house parties and other events that offered people a looksee at what this town is trying to do in this particular urban area (Jefferson Heights, Ft Negley) as well as home tours. Someone noted it as "gentrification" but I don't like that term for whatever reason, revitalization works better for me
This is a small area just a block from the ChooChoo. I have included pics of the parade, the new homes and the existing buildings as well as a couple from the ChooCHoo. One of the things that I questioned was that the homes and condos were mostly in the range that small families cannot afford and I prefer a mix of everyone if you are planning a new "community". Maybe the more affordable homes will come later? That's just my take on things but I do like the eco-friendly ideals that they have set forth. The after-parade party was such fun! We had free eats and drinks, Howard High provided some GREAT music and the children frolicked on the playground and blow up center. Enjoy but be warned, there are a TON of pics!

This is a small area just a block from the ChooChoo. I have included pics of the parade, the new homes and the existing buildings as well as a couple from the ChooCHoo. One of the things that I questioned was that the homes and condos were mostly in the range that small families cannot afford and I prefer a mix of everyone if you are planning a new "community". Maybe the more affordable homes will come later? That's just my take on things but I do like the eco-friendly ideals that they have set forth. The after-parade party was such fun! We had free eats and drinks, Howard High provided some GREAT music and the children frolicked on the playground and blow up center. Enjoy but be warned, there are a TON of pics!
