Hey all...
When I think of visiting the Smokey Mountains I always think Gatlinburg, etc..However, I might be driving up from the south (Atlanta, GA) and was wondering if there are some nice towns/areas in the southern part of the Smokey's, not far from Chatanooga?..Looking for beautiful views, quaint small town/shops, and maybe river rafting..Thanks for any info~

Basically, a town that is a bit cooler in the summer (being up in the hills) and has swimming holes just around the corner, and also has a few businesses where one might apply for work (nothing special or high-paying).
Maybe up by Knoxville but not really around here. I may learn something new though

and thanks for pointing that out thanks for all other suggestions, I did check out daylonega but since I can't spell it I decided against it.

LOL! Took me about 15 tries googleing it . Was there for a bike race last year. Had to look up the race (which I could spell ) to find the correct spelling.
