We got back from the egg hunt event co-sponsored by the Thomasboro Recreation Center and Zeta Phi Beta, off of Beatties Ford Road.
Just wanted to let you all know what a great experience it was! We got there at noon, signed up the kids for their appropriate age groups. They gave out a little bit of candy, which of course everyone started eating happily.
My kids got their faces painted, did some Easter coloring projects, participated in an egg-carrying contest (with a spoon) and of course hunted for eggs. The eggs had numbers in them, and my middle son even got a special blue egg with lace which he is very excited about (it's almost like a Christmas ornament).
Lots of kids, everyone was extremely friendly and positive, and pretty well organized, considering it was their first year doing it.
Forgot to mention: there was a news camera there too, taking pictures. Someone mentioned there might be a story on it on the Charlotte Observer online.
