My husband and I have been here for almost 2 years now and we are hoping to finally buy this summer. We love the Centex homes and was curious if anyone has any thoughts on this new neigborhood, Weddington Meadows and the elementary school for that area, McKee Road Elem.
Also any input on the Centex homes would be great.
TIA

Anyone? Any thoughts on any of the neighborhoods in that area or being that close to Frances Beatty Park?

there are several great neighborhoods in the area. Centex is like most builders so the responsibility falls on the homeowner to get inspections DURING the construction process( HIRE AN INSPECTOR, do not trust the builder) if you are buying a new home , special attention should be on the structural, and HVAC systems these are the areas most often overlooked and present dangers to the new homeowners. Last year more then 30% of new homes had major issues that if resolved before closing would have save many headaches.
As for the local subdivision what is your price point. There are two Weiland communities, Willowmere , Antioch and Clyburn just mention as few. Do you have a specific requirement and have you also considered non-subdivision homes. There are currently 4 great homes near the park that are on the market that are not in subdivisions.

I live in Weddington Ridge, just down the road toward McKee. I love the area. Follow Westbury's advice above.

I live in Weddington Ridge as well and we LOVE this area. Have 2 great grocery stores within a 2 min drive out of our subdivision, a YMCA, a small but state of the art BofA branch (biometric authentication to get you into the safety deposit box area so you don't have to wait to have someone let you in), close to the matthews post office, have 2 ways to get to the highway that are relatively quick and pretty much an area that is so central to everything!
We are actually considering Centex's Weddington Meadows ONLY because we need a bigger house now but want to stay in this area.
