I have been accepted to UNC Charlotte and a university in the Dallas-FW area, but I can't decide which one I should go to. I've heard a lot of bad things about Charlotte such as high unemployment, high crime rate, high cost of living, etc.
If anyone on here as lived in both Charlotte and the Dallas-FW area, which one do you recommend and why.

Dallas because of the bad things you've mentioned.
I am a student at UNC Charlotte and I absolutely love it here. It is at a place of rapid expansion and we just built a new Student Union with nice amenities for you. I have actually not heard of the high cost of living for Charlotte, but whatever. The sales tax has gone up. That bothers some, but I'm cool with it as some of that money goes towards Charlotte transit which is in the process of getting light rail to UNC Charlotte and the area. If that happens you would truly love this area. Go to school and be able to take a nice ride to "uptown" Charlotte where there is plenty for you to do.
UNT is in Denton which is a very artsy and very charming town. Its also a quick 30 minute drive to anywhere in the DFW area. Front Street in Denton is always happening. UNT is also one of the best schools in the country for the arts.
I cant tell you which to pick because I dont know enough about Charlotte, but I dont think you would be sorry if you ended up in Denton.
Consider moving to Charlotte after you graduate if you can land a job here.
