My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to Charlotte from Ohio by Sept of this year. Any suggestions on what neighborhoods to be looking at? We want to rent a house not an apt. We are trying to keep rent under $800 if we can. We have been looking in the concord area since the motor speed track is there. I am a hair stylist and need to find a very good salon. Any suggestions? Also he will be looking for performance shops. Any help would be great! I have been looking on line but really haven't come across much information. We are looking for safe neighborhoods. Also I will be looking for a server job in a sports bar. Any that are better then others?

Don't plan to live in Charlotte - Concord, or even Kannapolis, would be better choices in your price range for a house. It can be really hard to get a house in a desirable area in Charlotte under $900. I'm also concerned about jobs for your boyfriend - that will also be something very difficult to find. You may have an easier time, but don't just assume so. Our unemployment rate is very high and going higher - be sure to get jobs BEFORE you move.
