Today a helicopter was circling the neighborhood (off of 49 + 160) and a police officer told my daughter they were looking for a child that had been snatched, but I can't find any mention of it anywhere, not in the news, not on the crime blotter, and not in the 911 calls for today. Am I missing something?

How close are you to a major highway that can have a pile -up? The first couple of times I heard the helicoper laying in bed I didn't know what was happening until the 3rd time while listening to the helicopter I was watching the morning news covering the accident which was less than a mile from my house. Then I was brilliant!

That's so funny. There was a group of helicopters that went overhead, I think yesterday or the day before, by 160 and I77 heading toward NWish so probably towards 49. I didn't see them, was inside, but heard them and you could tell it was more than one so I assumed military. Perhaps they are just doing some training exercises or survelliance
Carolinas HealthCare System hopes to bring a helicopter landing area to its emergency care facility at N.C. 160 and 49 in Steele Creek, set to open by late summer, by XX. Rezoning requests vary in length depending on the submitted plans, impact on the area and public comment, though a public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at 600 E. 4th St., Charlotte.
