Then he requested me to pay 1600$ which is a huge amount plus I have no job.

I read here about that site with filing the complaint but they are saying that :
"The Board does not have the authority to make a dentist refund money, but a refund might be a condition of a consent agreement. Compensation for personal damages is not within the Board's authority."
which means that you cannot get the money back even if you are right?

Did somebody have any experience wiht this Board? Are there any other ways we can defend ?
This kind of practice just makes me furious! It makes me even more upset considering that people are hurting and some have lost their jobs while these predators have no mercy.
I just had this discussion with someone else who told me she had a similar experience. A new dentist closer to her home told her to replace all her fillings with porcelain. She went back to her family dentist who refuted the recommendation. He explained that it was all about the money.

I can see the Board taking the position on payment, etc. but I hope they will at least investigate this practice.

There should be a "promise not to rip anyone off" clause in a dentist's oath.
Not that it would stop them. Not even sure they have to take an Hippocratic oath...
Will all the ethical dentists in Charlotte please stand up?

She actually.

Not sure about great coverage, I have Aetna Dental, usual cleanings are free, 80% of preventive work, 50% off crowns etc.
