I was on Independence the other day and noticed a sign for Club Alibi? I think?
It's where the comedy zone was located on Independence.
Anyone know? Is it open? What kind of "club"?
I have not been that way in a while was wondering how long the comedy zone has been gone.

The Comedy Zone has been gone from that location for about 4-5 years I believe. Not sure about the Club Alibi, but things on that stretch seem to be a magnet for trouble I'm afraid.

I have lived down the road from there for about a year and the Comedy Zone sign was up until a few weeks ago. Not sure if they just left the sign up or what. I never went there because that area does look run down.

Yeah, when they left a few other things eventually left too and the area began to look more run down. The Comedy Club tried to make a go of it in uptown for a couple of years but I believe they closed sometimes in the last year or so permanently.

I had never been to the comedy zone But every time I was on 74 (I have been here for four years)
That sign has always been up! (comedy zone).
There was a cute lil coffee shop right next door to that. I know that has been gone for awhile.

Thanks! Just curious

Not sure why they left the sign? Maybe whoever bought the property bought it lock, stock and ....sign?

It is opening next weekend. I am on the security staff. It is going to be a mainstream place. The owner is putting a lot of money into it and it looks very nice inside.

Unfortunately, sicne the Shoney's closed (who built the original building), nothing has seemed to last in that location.

I sincerely wish them the best!

OK. Don't leave me hanging. I am the one who started this thread because I noticed the sign.
Tell me more. Since more then likely I might never make it to the place.
Unless you hype it up and make me (and others) want to go.
With all the businesses closing up around us ,new and old, these places need some support.
So get us interested.
