Cosmos should be opening sometime in March if all goes well. I was there the other day and it didn't look like the other 2 places were anywhere near opening either.
So Cheese Mo'z has been opened for a bit. Any feedback? I tried to do a search but didn't find anything and thought someone would have posted something by now. We stopped in the other night to pick up a to-go menu just to see what the place is all about. Driving down Rea I always look in the window that faces the street and have seen a decent amount of people. Anyone??? (PS...not looking to start some crazy Lorenzo's Pizza thread )
My family and I ate at Cheeze Mo's friday(opening nite). We met Dan Morgan. He seems like a nice guy. Wings were good, great music, and the bar was hopping. Family friendly. The pizza, so-so. It may improve over time. I have a friend who is the bartender there, so we did not have to wait at all.
I tried Cheeze Moz last night and was very unimpressed. While the staff and place are great, the pizza was not good (at all). For a 900 degree coal oven they made, at best, bad Pizza Hut. The crust was thick and undercooked on top. While the bottom of the pie had some good signature high heat scorch marks, the dough atop was raw.
I know everybody likes their pizza a certain way and being a native NYC'r I like thin crust. I feel confident in saying that this place makes their crust waaaayy to thick and gooey. A 900 degree oven should yield a near perfect thin/med crsut pie.
I will go back in a few months in the hopes that they nail down the pizza recipe. Their equiptment has promise, I just hope they can use it better.
