They own a smaller restaurant in Boulder, The Walnut Brewery, that used to serve both items, Ani. I used to get a kick out of them on the menu. How else would you fry chicken than "chicken fried"?

I am gonna make one or two casseroles for Turkey Day here in a bit. I make them ahead, then freeze it so I don't have to actually stir things up on T Day. Just pop things in the oven!!!

I plan to nibble while cooking this evening. The cheeseball I made last evening - DH has been eyeballing it all day so I may have to make another just for us to munch on BEFORE Thursday!!!

Now I am craving gravy!!! UUUGGGHHHH.

ETA - and I am talking about Jimmy Dean type sausage, not Italian sausage. I mean - those crispy round things - sausage patties.

It sounds like ncyank was talking about that chicken fried steak gravy or something like that. That thick white gravy. That's what that sounds like.

Speaking of Jimmy Dean sausage I gotta start cutting that up for, of all things, spaghetti with sauce and bits of sausage.

HEE HEE - so . . . others thought that was kinda odd, too! Blew me away when I opened a menu in Kansas and it said "chicken fried steak." I thought it was a typo at first.

Yes - that thick white gravy - usually made w/ bits of sausage in it. And poured over either mashed potatoes or biscuits!!!!

It gets dark too early. I hate this. I always feel like it is about 8 pm when it is only 5:30.
