My family (wife and 2 young kids) and I will be relocating to Charlotte in the Spring of 2009 and are familiar with the Myers Park, Dilworth, Southpark, and Eastover areas. Are there any other similar areas fairly close to uptown that would be just as desirable to live in? Schools are important. House budget somewhere between $500,000 and $800,000.
Thanks for any help.

I would only add Elizabeth to your list above - these are all the best, and you won't find any better if schools are a consideration.

I am not a realtor.

Eastover is a great location for everything and very very close/convenient.

The public schools are very close and just keep getting better:
Eastover Elementary is across the street.
Alexander Graham (AG) Middle School is < 2 miles.
Myers Park High School is next to AG.
