I can't speak from personal experience (my kids go to Sandy Ridge), but my nieghboor said her 3rd grader liked McKee over Sandy Ridge. Keep in mind that's from a 3rd grader.

Default Good Neighborhoods

We are considering moving to the Ballantyne area with a price range of about $250K-$300K. We are looking for a single family home with a garage. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone have any experience with schools serving kids with learning disabilities? Thanks!

In Ballantyne area consider Thornhill, Stone Creek Ranch, area by Endhaven school (for example Orchid Hill), Landen Meadows, Blakeney Heath (and surrounding area), Southampton, Reavencrest, Weston Glen, Providence Pointe, Strathmoor...for starters

We ended up in eastern Matthews, very close to the YMCA/the end of Providence Plantation...I love it! People kept telling me how great Ballantyne is...we rented there for several months and it was very very nice, so I can't argue with that...it just wasn't for me in terms of buying a home there...I wanted something a little more low key and charming and old school..Ballantyne just struck me as being a bunch of stores, an industrial park, rentals and large new homes one on top of the other....It's lovely to visit but just wan't for me...Best of luck!
