Oh, there's plenty of homeless people, they just kind of keep to themselves. You get the occasional panhandler, but they are generally courteous and don't cause a big scene. It's easier to not get hassled by the cops that way.
7 oh 4: I pray i never have to be homeless. But I live in miami where you find a lot of homeless people in the rural areas. I dont have a problem with them, but when you are sitting in a nice outside restaurant enjoying the breeze with your family and about to put a nice piece of steak in your mouth, the last thing you want is a guy standing next to you smelling like 2year old cheese....and asking for money
There are homeless people (and PLEASE PRAY for them!).
They are just not allowed on Tryon or Trade St's. I think that is a shame. YES they might ask for money but remember they are GOD's children too!
Years back Charlotte ran them off the main streets and the Police will make sure they are not wondering the main streets. Is that fair?
6,000 - 8,000 adults and children are homeless each night in Charlotte....VERY SAD!!!
It is nice that someone has a heart. But, be realistic. My good friend was a cop downtown when the soup kitchen was by at the episcipal Church. He told me how dangerous they were and how much crime the commited as well as who they were. Thank god they are gone somewhere else. That is why I wanted to vote for Juliani. He got rid of them in NYC. I am not insensitive, but they need to be away from places I frequent.

I am realistic and GLAD I have a heart! I live Uptown and do see homeless people often on side streets and sleeping on a cold bench in 4th Ward Park when it is 21 degrees outside. My partner & I slip this woman money EVERYTIME we see her. Does she ask us NO...never! She is a human being. We even take her warm food sometimes and beverages & a blanket & a pillow. I have been blessed and it is my duty to help others.
Not tooting my own horn...but if everyone would just help out a little we could make a difference. I have a warm bed. I have food everyday. I have shelter. Am I better than any homeless person...ABSOLUTELY....NOT!!! Homeless people are not dangerous...just less fortunate!
Back to the OP....Epicentre...can't wait for it to finish!
Anyway Epicenter sounds good, they just started the founds when I got to Charlotte, so looking forward to it.
