We are interested in Rocky River subdvision in Harrisburg or Highland Creek on Cabarrus Co. side and would be spending around $190-215k. Which side would you say is going to appreciate well? Which side would you choose and why? We are a young family and looking for commute convenience (grocery stores/post office/library/etc. nearby and a rather short commute into uptown for my husband's job) and a family friendly area with good schools. Thx.

Obviously its hard to judge future forecasts. Both of the areas you mention are really nice areas. Harrisburg is a nice little gem that will not be a secret to much longer. Highland Creek is a very desirable neighborhood with plenty of amenities. I would drive both areas and see what caters to your needs.

Hope this helps some....

Both are very good. A visit to see what works for you would be a good idea.
