Does anyone have any advice where to find a data entry position for a college student?
I type in the range of 100-140 words per minute depending on the difficulty of the text. I'm 22 now and web design, search engine optimization, advertising and likewise have been my source of income since I was 13 but now I'm seeking something steady.
I've been trying all the local papers, craigslist and the other job sites such as monster and careerbuilder but no luck. Just lots of the typical scammers.
Does anyone know how to contact Charlottedata.com? Their formmail is broken and their e-mails get returned.
I just took a data entry test:
Gross keystrokes per hour: 22338.01
Net keystrokes per hour: 22318.02
Accuracy: 99.91
Duration (minutes): 3.00
Total keystrokes: 1117
Keystroke errors: 1
Total fields: 156
Total field errors: 1
Why not look around for web jobs? if you've been doing it since you were 13 I would hope you have the skills most design firms would be looking for? I had about 6 interviews for web jobs within a week after graduating in charlotte - and not one of them cared about my degree, just the skills I had and the work I had to show.
I already do SEO and various installs for people plus run a few sites of my own but I'm looking for additional income.
Actually I might misunderstand your question. Is web jobs a type of website or do you mean why don't I look for a job that involves directly with working on the web? I do have quite a bit of skills but I'm lacking in design type stuff. My specialty is in search engine optimization and stuff like that and I've actually not seen any job opportunities for something like that. I could probably do some internet advertising or something similiar for companies but I can't imagine getting myself on a regular payroll with something like that. It's something you can find work for through forums and scriptlance type sites but I have a hard time keeping something steady. I'd like to atleast get something extra and that I can count on. I do make money as it is, but it's not necessarily the same each week.
Try Wachovia the specific department you want to look for is lockbox, they might be outsourced to Remitco so try them too. They encode the data for check payments for customers and it's a fast high paced environment.

Oh I thought I was fast at 18,000-19,000.
Go to an employment agency they might be able to help you. Tax season is coming up they usually hire data entry for that. I used to do that back in the day.
