It's been a while since I've seen a March Snow in this area, (or it seems like it) but it is snowing this morning at the Lake, (Norman) and around Huntersville. According to my thermometer it's too warm to amount to any accumulation.

Whats more amazing is there is a storm next week (midweek timeframe) that has the potential to give you guys a snow/rain mix. In fact highs should not get out of the 40's for the next 5 days down there. Rare for early March..

The snow came down pretty thick for a few hours in south CLT, but mainly coated the shrubs and leaf piles on the ground before the rain began melting it off. Am still seeing a few wet flakes in the "snowy rain" right now.

Big fluffy flakes here! MUST... GET... MILK...

March snow wasn't unusual up North, but based on the OP being a lifelong native not remembering a March snow - climate change is really starting to get me thinking and I have serious concerns for the thunderstorm season on its way... But for now, I'll just enjoy this beautiful white - snow is so pretty.

Cmon admit it..ya miss the snow season a little

Was looking at the long term..March is gonna be a below normal month for all of the east. In fact, its possible you guys will not see much more than a 70 degree high the whole month.

Don't miss it in the least... last big storm I had friends and family literally trapped without plows for DAYS on LI - cutbacks on services are hitting hard and it's only getting worse. These are areas that many years ago prided themselves that they scoffed at significant snowfall amounts. Now they're whining all over FB. Plus I'm getting older and realize after the 1st 24 hours of excitement it just means back breaking shoveling, long gas lines, and I will never miss black dirty snow piles along every road and in every parking lot for weeks afterwards. Boy how things change.

They also got 3 feet of snow...a once in a lifetime event might have something to do with it.
