Does The Vue have any rental units available. The Radcliffe is a lot closer. Maybe there's a unit available there?

That house that WesleyHeightsWay recommended may or may not be for you. It is really close to Uptown and the immediate area there has seen a great amount of investment over the past few years. Some rough hoods aren't too far way from there though and if the idea of hearing occasional late night gunshots off in the distance bothers you, then it's not the spot for you. It really depends on your comfort zone.

Since you said that you liked the creative scene, you'd probably like the Plaza-Midwood area or NoDa, which are both a short 5-10 minute drive from Uptown. You have to be very choosy about where you pick a house, as those neighborhoods border some rough areas as well.

6126 Patric Alan Court Charlotte, NC 28216
1126 McDowell Farms Dr, Charlotte, NC 28217
225 Sunnywood Ln, Charlotte, NC 28270
9365 Kimmel Ln, Charlotte, NC 28216

So far these are on the list
I can't believe the lack of rentals that are within a 10-15min commute to downtown. Everything seems in the 20min range

In my opinion, on that list scratch Patric Allen Ct. off

Sunnywood is the best location, safe and a walkable area with a decent commute to uptown.

Kimmel would seem pretty suburban and you couldn't really walk anywhere

McDowell isn't terrible, just kind of downtrodden with homes not being well maintained.

Bad. It's actually the heaviest traveled road in the state.

I always avoid when possible

Depending on which side of it you lived on there are other routes to take into uptown. And like I said, if you are on the bus, especially an express bus, it's not a bad ride in.

Forgot to say earlier...the house on Sunnywood is right down the street from the McAlpine Greenway

I think this is one of those situations where the OP should consider post count and rep when taking advice here... There's a reason the ToS specifically doesn't allow "recommendations" with a post count below 10.

If I ever wanted to move my family up into Charlotte proper, I think loves would be the first DM I send. Heed her words would be my advice.

What? Are you saying that there's not gunfire around there? Because I know you're lying then. My sister lived on Grandin Rd at 4th St so I know that area.

We can look at the crime map and see that in just the past two months there was a discharge of a firearm a few hundred yards from that house you recommended and a shooting (meaning a person was shot) just down the road. And an armed robbery took place literally right in front of that house.

And that's just in in that immediate area. It's much worse up the road. Try being more honest.
