I have considered relocating to North Carolina for several years with a preference to Charlotte rather than the Raleigh area based on the proximity to activities to keep me and my 12 year old son busy. Although Raleigh seems to have great schools I am not sure they can keep me interested, but I could be wrong!

I have done research and it appears there is some concern relating to the crime in the Charlotte area and I would like feedback from those currently living in the area. When I am comparing the stats to Cleveland they don't seem any worse.

My son and I visited for a week last year to get an idea of the area and we liked the Mooresville area and the Concord area. Are there specfic parts of Concord I should avoid and if so what are they? How are the schools? I really don't see much posted about livng in Mooresville any feedback would be helpful. They seem to have good schools.

I am looking for an area with a good school system. We are coming from a house, so I am looking to rent an apartment townhouse, which there seems to be very few in North Carolina. I am looking for a safe area where my son will not feel isolated from other children. He likes the outdoors riding bike, skateboarding, and playing sports.

I am a healthcare professional and I have started my active search for employment and hopefully will land a job and be able to move this summer before the school year begins for my son.

Thanks

Mooresville and Concord are both desirable places to live with smaller school systems and good schools.

Let the job offers guide you on where to look for housing. Until you get one it really doesn't do any good to pick a place, as the job may be no where near that place.

Perhaps you can find a townhome to rent in the area of your new job by looking for owners renting theirs out on Craig's List.
