I live in the north charlotte. I'm wondering when 485 loop will be completed. I wish they plan the blue line train to north at least until the university area.

Any ideas about 485 completion?

no, I think that the train is just as needed as the completion of 485.

However, I am completely disillusioned that either will ever happen.

I-485 is a federal and stated funded project. It's already got money being spent on the planning and ROW and presumably some of the Obama stimulus dollars went to it as well. It will be completed.

The train plan is based on very unrealistic assumptions and isn't funded. IMO, it's not going to happen.

Project started in 1988 and was suppose to be done in 2003. The estimated date for the final northern segment is 2015... we shall see. I do believe it will be done eventually but not so sure they will meet the date.

I read it will be completed in 2013 or so. Apparently, the project is under-budget right now and they are working to get more contracts finished. I thought I read the article on WSOC's website. They've already starting changing the signage to reflect the REAL destinations of 485, thankfully.

I agree, 2015 is the estimated date but I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer.

I can see why you said that, but. . .NCDOT has projects slated well into the future. That stimulous money allowed them to do or start projects slated for this year, last year. Samana had a thread asking about a road construction project that she came upon in Gaston County & I found it, listed to start in 2011. They were early.

Every time that another project gets finished, 485 is that much closer to completion.
